Jeff Mariola is President of Initial Tropical Plants, the world’s largest interior landscape company, which services over 25,000 customers in the United States and Canada. Mariola oversees over 1,200 employees in 43 North American offices. Initial Tropical Plants is a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial plc, a publicly traded international business-to-business service organization based in the UK. Mariola has guided the company through many acquisitions which have dramatically increased the company’s North American footprint. The company produces annual revenues of over $109 million and is the only national supplier in the business-to-business interior plants sector.
Mariola, who was appointed the company’s president in 1999, is a leading advocate about the importance of improving the quality of life in the workplace by bringing people and plants together. “Our research and development team leads the way in quantifying and qualifying the psychological benefits of plants. Interior plants are shown to reduce absenteeism, and clearly improve the well-being and productivity of people at work,” says Jeff Mariola.
Mariola joined the company 21 years ago and has held a variety of management positions. Prior to his current position, Mariola served as President of Atlanta-based Rentokil Pest Control from 1996 to 1999. Mariola was promoted to Branch Manager of the South Florida Pest Control business in 1988. Mariola began his career at Rentokil Initial as a Branch Manager of Rentokil Pest Control’s Akron, Ohio branch in 1984. Mariola, an avid opera fan, lives with his family in a Chicago suburb.
